We’ve been sent a scanned picture of the first National School in Cheltenham – you can just make out the date of 1816 on the gate. Thanks to Roger Jones

The British Schools Museum in Hitchin has sent best wishes to the National Society on 200 years of education. The museum celebrates the history of elementary education in the Lancasterian or British System from 1798.

History Mystery! We’ve been sent a picture of a National Society Clock. It may be a school clock, but we’ve found no reference to one inthe archives. Does your school have a clock like this – if so, please let us know.
